Hello! Tamara here today to show you a super cute diecut project. My family and I are taking off to the beach for two days, and it got me totally in the mood to pull out one of my favorite Echo Park collections, "
Splash." This collection mixed with some die cut files from
idiecut.com and
loriwhitlock.com made a GREAT little goodie box.
If you'd like to make one for yourself, here's some design tips!
Files used:
* Lori Whitlock's simple borders (
wavy border) - Sized to 11.50" wide
* Lori Whitlock' scalloped frame (Silhouette store) - Sized to 3" wide
* Echo Park Paper
wave sized to 2.00" high and another at 2.50" high
* Echo Park Paper
whale sized to 3.55" wide
* Echo Park Paper
fish sized to .70" wide and some at .90" wide
Instructions:
1). Cut and assemble the box bottom. I used my Sizzix "eclips" for digital die cutting. You can also cut with a Silhouette die cut machine.
2). For the top, it takes some editing. You will need to add a "hole" to the lid by using a circle shape and layering it over the lid. Do this for BOTH lid files. For the yellow piece shown in the lid window, you will just cut a lid as is.
3). Assemble the lid. I had to trim the tabs a bit as to not have them show in the window. I used a Glue Arts glue glider to adhere quickly and easily. Add the scalloped frame and a piece of acetate for the window. Set fish inside.
4). Use two layers of adhesive foam to pop the lid to create dimension so the fish can "swim" around. I Once you have 4-5 pieces of layered foam around the edges, adhere inside the lid. Hot glue the whale on top. I used adhesive foam to adhere the waves behind the whale.
5). Cut the wavy border and adhere around the base of your round box with foam adhesive to add dimension. I also used Epiphany Crafts epoxy bubbles over the "Splash" bubble stickers.
6). Embellish the box with ink, ribbon, buttons, etc.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like this cute little goodie box. Enjoy!

I had bought this box shape through my Silhouette store (99 cents!) so I'm all set to make one of these! We also have Echo Park shapes in our store for that price. Very cute idea! Thanks!
