I’m fairly smitten with the For the Record 2 Collection. In particular I love the "Tailored" collection. I have two sweet girls, and we wear a lot of pink in these parts. I love the color palette of this line because they all work perfectly with a typical outfit at my house.
My eldest daughter Morgan is eight, and she recently took it upon herself to make a tooth pillow from scratch. She gathered some felt and her own ideas and except for advice on how to stuff and sew the back and front together, she made this penguin tooth pillow all by herself! (The tooth goes in the little heart pocket). The crafter in me couldn’t have been more proud!
To document this creation I wanted to use the tailoring theme, and I couldn’t think of a better title for this layout than “stitch”. I wanted something short because I didn’t want the title letters to stretch across the whole page (my first title idea was the word “stitched”). I also didn’t want teeny letters for my title, so the reddish alphas in this collection worked perfectly. Of course, as with the theme, I had to stitch them down when I was finished. They aren’t going anywhere!
I cut a journaling spot in half and used a tag without the brad under my photo on the right side of my layout. The border sticker draws you eye right through my photo, which worked perfectly. I love the doily theme so had to include a real one from my stash. Love the sticker and the added dimension from the chipboard doily. They were a lot of fun to work with!
I also trimmed up the journaling spots out of the 12x12 pattern to layer behind my photos here as well, and then added journaling using the background paper as a guide for straight lines (mine tend to lean which is one reason I use a ruler and make a line underneath when I am done. It helps make things look straighter).
I hope you got some design ideas out of this layout and that you are on the lookout for this collection! I have been having a lot of fun with it.
