Please welcome Design Team Expert Nancy Damiano today with a fun sketch for your layouts. Nancy used the beautiful For the Record 2 "Tailored" collection to create this stunning project.
Recently I was going through some old pictures when I stumbled upon some of my niece as a toddler. I couldn't believe how quickly she has grown up in the past five years. I decided to make a "through the years" type page so I could really see how much she had changed.
From a design perspective, the For the Record "Tailored" collection was perfect for the story I wanted to tell. It combines a bold color palette and just the right amount of "pretty" to complement the collection of photos. The huge frame around the layout adds a punch color and pattern without taking away from the photos. To maintain a linear look, I divided the center of the page into equal rectangles to add photos, embellishments and a journaling block. I placed a butterfly sticker on a wooden stick and added a brad and word sentiment for some flair. The ribbon in the center separates the page and adds a whimsical touch.
