Hi there! Linda here, with another quick and easy décor
project for you. This decorated guitar
looks as though it took hours to create, but it is actually very simple! I started with a small wooden guitar that I
purchased in the children’s department of a chain craft store. It was already painted, which made the
assembly even quicker, as the neck of the guitar was a lovely yellow shade that
looks nice peeking through the paper tape. Follow the simple directions below, and you’ll be able to create a
unique decorative accent for your favorite tween, or for yourself.

Materials needed:
Sweet Girl “Sweet
Clover” Patterned Paper
Sweet Girl “Quilt Blocks” Patterned Paper (reverse side)
Sweet Girl
“Red/Yellow” Solid Paper
Sweet Girl Element
Sticker sheet
Sweet Girl Layered
Stickers
Sweet Girl
Chipboard Stickers
Sweet Girl Tape
Pearl Stickers
17" Craft Store Wooden Guitar
Craft Knife
Adhesive

Instructions:
1. Before beginning, if your guitar has removable strings,
take them off and set them aside. If you
are working with an unfinished guitar, paint the neck and seams a coordinating
color.
2. Trace the front of the guitar to create a template out
of scrap paper, marking the location of the bridge so it can be cut away. Trace template onto the back of the “Sweet
Clover” patterned paper and cut out the shape.
3. Measure the height of the sides of the guitar, and cut
strips of the reverse side of the “Quilt Blocks” patterned paper and ¾" strips
of the red side of the coordinating solid paper.
4. Run all the cut out pieces through a Xyron machine or use
a fast drying liquid adhesive. Carefully
apply the patterned paper to the front of the guitar, trimming edges if there
is any overlap. Adhere the red coordinating
cardstock strip to the yellow reverse patterned paper and then apply the
layered papers to the guitar starting at the neck and covering the sides of the
guitar, overlapping at the bottom.
5. Wrap the neck of the guitar with
Sweet Girl paper tape.
6. Re-string the guitar.
7. Embellish the front of the guitar with stickers and
self-adhesive pearls.
My oldest daughter loves music and has been teaching herself
how to play the guitar. This was the
perfect accent piece for her newly re-decorated bedroom, and she loves it. My instructions would be easy to adapt using the All
About A Boy collection for a music-loving tween boy, too!
Happy crafting!
