Please welcome Design Team Expert Tamara Tripodi for today's tutorial on altering a tin. Look for packaging that can easily be altered or redesigned for something truly special!
Hello there! Tamara here today to share a fun and easy altered tin. This is perfect for a small gift. I am huge on making boxes, bags, etc. Anything I can put something "in," it’s my favorite thing to make. I had this little tin laying around that came with some washi tape inside of it and thought it would look amazing with some of the For the Record 2 "Documented" on it. This was very easy to do with the gorgeous papers and pretty embellishments from this collection.
Supplies:
FRD35002 Floral
FRD35003 MiniFloral
FRD35014 Element Stickers
FRD35020 Documented Brads
FRD35021 Documented Layered Chipboard
FRD35022 Documented Chipboard
Brown ink
Button
Paper cord (tan)
Adhesive foam and glue runner (Glue Arts)
Tin is from - Washi Tape Tin
Instructions:
1. Measure the height and circumference of the tin. Trim the FRD35002 Floral patterned paper to fit. Adhere to the tin.
2. Next cut a thin strip of the FRD35003 MiniFloral. Ink edges in brown and adhere to the tin. Then adhere the "Here and Now" sticker to the front of the tin with adhesive foam. Add the butterfly and flower stickers. I bent up the wings and petals for a 3D look.
3. For the lid of the tin, adhere the large blue doily sticker to the top with some of the edge hanging off, trim with a craft knife. Embellish with a button, paper cord, chipboard bird, layered chipboard yellow flowers, and the typewriter brad.
That’s it! Pretty easy, right? I hope you’ve enjoyed this project and it inspired you some way! Thanks for stopping by.
