Sometimes it's fun to move away from the "traditional" holiday colors and create something a bit different. I wanted to create a gift box that was a little more elegant for a specific friend, so I chose to use the lovely damask papers in the "34th Street Style Essentials" Collection.
I found a pillow box cut file in the Silhouette store HERE and cut out the box shape from the papers in this collection.
It's easy to assemble. Just be sure to use strong adhesive so it doesn't pop open! Next I wrapped a strip of black patterned paper around the box. The flower is also cut from a digital file found in the Silhouette store HERE.
After I cut the flower layers, I used some pretty glitter glue to outline the edges. When the glue was nice and dry, I slightly folded up the petals and stacked the pieces on top of one another. I attached them with a foam adhesive dot between each layer. When the layers were complete, I simply attached the flower to the top of the box. For a finishing touch, I cut some leaves from gold, glitter paper and tucked them underneath the flower.
You can use any of the holiday collections in conjunction with your favorite dimensional die cut boxes, bags, etc. These make great gifts for friends and neighbors!
