Hi everyone! Corri here today with a pretty gift set that I made with the new “Splendid Sunshine” Collection and some of the coordinating Echo Park die cuts from the Silhouette Store.
I love Spring and was inspired by the garden theme of the paper collection. I used a die cut watering can that I found in the Silhouette Store as the base for my 3d project. You could also use a paper mache watering can from your local craft store as a base.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut is beautiful flower bunch file, the enjoy life banner and this butterfly. I inked up the edges of the layers before gluing these together and attached the flower bunch and banner to the front of the can with foam dots. I applied a glue dot the center of the butterfly so that the wings could be lifted up.
Everyone loves shaped cards and nothing says Spring like butterflies. Follow along with the instructions below to make this quick butterfly card.
Open the butterfly file and resize to 4.5”h making sure that the keep aspect ratio box is checked.
Next, select the butterfly and click on the offset icon along the top to create a shadow layer of your shape.
You can now drag the inner butterfly shape off your mat. Move the offset to the lower left corner of your mat. Click on the replicate window along the top and select “mirror above”.
Click on the top butterfly shape to select it and use your arrow keys on the keyboard to move it down just a little. Select both butterfly shapes and click on the modify button and select weld.
Now you are ready to cut your card base. I cut the base, the 4.5”w butterfly layer and one smaller butterfly at 2.65”w and embellished the card with a sticker from the collection and some pearls.
