The holiday season is such an exciting and busy time of year! It always means plenty of shopping, baking, planning, getting together, and…card making! Since so much card making happens to occur during such a busy time of year I try to keep my card designs simple, and I try to use time-saving products whenever possible.
The decorative brads from the Home For The Holidays collection are just that--perfect ready-made embellishments that are easy to use and save time. These cards came together in minutes and the brads really add that something special.
I punched out some circles from blocks of patterned paper to create a negative space background for the brads. I combined different sizes and types of brads for a more eclectic feel, and I punched out some smaller circles from patterned paper to place behind some of them.
Here’s a little tip for working with brads: if you need to attach a brad directly to your card surface (like the “i” in my card sentiment), trim off the prongs with a wire cutter and adhere the brad head to the card with a glue dot. That way the prongs won’t show on the inside when you open the card.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this bit of holiday card inspiration. Are you planning on making some cards for the holidays?
