Hello! Courtney here today and I am sharing a ‘Missing You’ card created with the Our Family mini theme. To help create the little scene on my card I pulled out my favorite Designer Dies set - At Home Embroidery Hoop Die Set, and my favorite Designer Stamps set - Sentiments 4x6 Stamp.
To create the scene inside the die cut embroidery hoop I started with two circles cut from “Words” Patterned Paper and “Journaling Cards” Patterned Paper b-sides. Next I die cut a couple of layers of grass using the tiny scallops die from the Yesterday Edges Die Set and added a bit of hand stitching along the bottom. The little house was fussy cut from the “Houses” Patterned Paper and a flower sticker was added to finish it off.
I wanted to add a bit of interest to the card but still have it be easily mailable, so I added a bit of dimension with several layers of die cuts. The embroidery hoop was die cut three times from kraft cardstock, then stacked up and adhered together. Each layer in the paper pieced scene also adds dimension and interest, but the final card still fits easily in an envelope.
