Hello, friends! It’s Tania back with you again today! Are you ready to fill that revolving frame with a charming Halloween piece? I have a really quick tutorial that will have you filling that frame with something fun and festive using a few bits and pieces from the Hocus Pocus collection, as well as getting your fingers a bit inky with the new Bats 6x6 Designer Stencil that coordinates so perfectly with this collection. Let’s get started, shall we?
First, you’re going to cut down a piece of Kraft Vellum Cardstock to 8” x 10”. Then, stencil three areas of the outside edges (i.e. upper left-hand side, bottom center, and lower right) of the cardstock using the Bat Stencil. I find it easiest if I tape the stencil down using a low-tack tape, such as washi tape, then load a sponge up with ink and pounce the sponge over the stencil until I have the desire depth of color I’m looking for. Make-up sponges, like rounds or wedges, work perfectly for this type of application. I prefer to use ink, but you can certainly use acrylic paint as well.

After stenciling your bats, splatter silver mist or paint all over the background of your cardstock and allow to dry.

Cut out the four journaling cards: “Trick or Treat”, “Crow”, “Oct 31”, “Spider Web”. Adhere the journaling cards so they are 1” in from the left and right edges and ½” from the bottom. This will cause them to not meet in the middle, but we will take care of that in the next step.

Cut a strip of Plaid patterned paper to 1” x 7”. Adhere in the space between the journaling cards, allowing an equal overhang on both sides.

Add the purple “eat drink and be scary” sticker layered on the “white frame” sticker both found on the Element Stickers sheet to the “Spider Web” journaling card in the lower right corner using foam dimensional adhesive. Add three “black star” stickers to “Oct 31” journaling card. Embellish “black star” stickers with rhinestones.

Stamp “October Thirty-First” stamp onto Ultra White Felt Cardstock, then cut out into shape using die and manual die-cutting machine.

Wrap 24” of natural twine around your fingers and lay onto Plaid patterned paper. Adhere “October Thirty-First” stamped piece over top using foam dimensional adhesive.

Adhere “green” star, “chandelier” stickers from Element Sticker sheet to “Trick or Treat” journaling card and two “bat” stickers from Element Sticker sheet to “Crow” journaling card to finish off your piece.

Place entire piece into an 11” x 14” matted framed with an opening for an 8” x 10” photo.
