Hello! Tegan here today and I am happy to be sharing my latest layout using the fun and colorful Meow collection! I wanted to show that this collection isn't only for cats! Right now I only have a dog, but cats are adorable too. I love the Meow collection so I am happy I was able to make this collection work with a photo of my dog taking a catnap! The die sets that coordinate with the Meow collection are must-haves for cat projects! I started my layout by cutting out hearts using the Cat's Meow Die Set to make a bold page design element. Here's how you can recreate this fun look!
1. Die cut 5 hearts each from the yellow chevron patterned paper, the black paw print patterned paper, and the teal fish bone patterned paper.
2. Trim three strips of red solid paper that are about 7" x 1/4". Adhere the hearts onto the strips as shown using a thin adhesive. I used repositionable adhesive so my sewing needle would move through it easily.
3. Machine stitch straight lines down the middle of the strip using white thread. If you don't have a sewing machine, use a fine tip pen or marker to hand draw in little stitch marks.
4. Thread three small orange buttons with pink embroidery floss and adhere to the hearts on the far left side.
5. Adhere heart strips to top of page using foam adhesive. Fussy cut orange cat from patterned paper. Adhere banner sticker, orange cat, and mouse sticker over heart strips as shown.
6. I then used the fish bone die from the Kitty Die Set to cut a bone out of wax paper. Yes, WAX PAPER! I love the slightly opaque look the wax paper gives the fish bone!
I created this sweet little kitty with cardstock and the cat from the Cat's Meow Die Set. Isn't he adorable? I think he would be so cute with patterned paper legs and tail too!
