Hello, my lovely friends! It’s Tania, back with you today! Are you ready to get inky and put your stamps to work for you to make a fun, patterned background using a variety of inks and the different phrases available in both the Snow Cold Designer Stamp Set and the Snow Much Fun Designer Stamp & Die Set from the Hello Winter Collection? That’s exactly what this layout feature is all about today and it’s easy as sticking out your tongue and catching snowflakes on a snowy winter day!
Here’s how:
I built my layout on the Gray side of the Teal/Gray solid cardstock. I found it easiest to have an acrylic block for each individual stamp and had all my inks lined up beside each other in front of me, but if you don’t have that many to go around, you can certainly still accomplish this same look, you’ll just have a bit extra time taking your stamps on and off the block after each stamped image.
To begin, I chose the largest stamp ‘Baby it’s Cold Outside’ and stamped it in the center of the bottom section in a dark gray ink. From there, I began building the graphic text layers by stamping in lighter shades of gray, and blues, around that first stamp, turning the block 90 degrees before stamping. Don’t worry about smashing the text and images too close together as you go because once you are done you can fill in any of the odd gaps with brads and enamel dots.
Next, cut a 1” x 12” Snowflakes Patterned Paper and ½” x 12” Frosty Night Patterned Paper strip and adhere them vertically along the right-hand side of the layout. Cut another piece of Snowflakes Patterned Paper to ¾” x 12” and adhere it vertically along the left-hand side of the layout. Adhere a 5” x 7” photo flush with the left-hand patterned paper strip. Also, add the two swirl stickers, the blue one from the Element Stickers Sheet and the cream one from the Alpha Stickers Sheet, to the immediate right of the photo.
Create a scene in the open space at the upper right portion of the layout using the following chipboard pieces as shown: the skating polar bear, the ‘Hello Winter’ title, two large snowflakes layers and multiple printed snowflake circles. Adhere these with foam dimensional adhesive squares.
Next, finish the lower portion of the layout by adding the sticker party banner using foam dimensional adhesive. Add a chipboard banner piece at both ends of the party banner to lengthen it and help it stretch across the entire layout. Add white twine double-looped bows at the ends. Then finish off the lower right corner with the chipboard phrase ‘Do you want to build a snowman’ and the chipboard Christmas tree. Embellish the tree with Enamel Dots.
Lastly, fill in the gaps between the stamping with enamel dots and/or decorative brads.
Happy crafting!
