Tips and Tricks for Making Designer Dies Even Easier to Use!

Hello, friends!  It’s Tania here with you today sharing this darling little airplane die-cut embellishment that was created to coordinate with the Little Man collection.  Here I’ve used it along with the cloud die-cuts from the Sun & Clouds Designer Die Set to create this clean and simple card.

I just wanted to share a few little tips of some tools that you may like to keep handy that make working with these wafer thin dies a bit easier.

1. Nail Clippers: Always keep two pairs of nail clippers in your tool arsenal. One pair of toenail clippers and one pair of fingernail clippers. These are PERFECT for clipping apart the wires that hold together your brand new dies. I find these are easier to work with than wire snippers.

2. Washi Tape: Use washi tape to adhere the pieces back to the chipboard insert that they came with and place back into the plastic wrapping to minimize the risk of losing pieces.

3. Adhesive Glue Pen: Invest in an adhesive pen to glue the tiny pieces in place.

4. Toothpick: For the tiniest of pieces, that even a glue pen is too big for, keep a supply of toothpicks in your stash. Dip the tip of a toothpick into some liquid adhesive and use it to apply the glue to the pieces. Use a dry toothpick tip to manipulate the piece into the correct position. You can use the tip of a straight pin if you’d rather. This is exactly how I adhered the double layers of the tiny back wheel on the airplane die cut.

5. Tweezers: Tweezers will help you to hold onto tiny pieces so much easier to get the placement just right without chubby fingers getting in the way and making things all wonky.

I hope something I’ve shared has helped you not be so intimidated to work with die-cutting!  It really does open up a whole new world to your crafting.

Create this Superhero Favor Box with "Little Man" and Your Silhouette!

Hello Echo Park Paper fans, Holly here from Ribbons & Glue sharing a Superhero Favor Box made with the Little Man kit and a Silhouette cut file.  

This Little Man collection is so fun!  Full of all the things little boys love like frogs, dinosaur, airplanes and stars .    

The favor box is made with my  Silhouette and a  3D Star favor box  cut file using patterned papers from the Little Man collection.  The box is embellished with ephemera die cut shapes adhered on to  wire.  

Just a fun little favor box perfect for any Little Man in your life.
