"Happy Summer" Altered Frame

Ready for some summer sunshine? I know we are! To celebrate we created this fun altered frame using a popular frame from Ikea and the darling "Happy Summer" collection:

Here's another look at this project. See how we layered the ephemera and stickers onto the frame, as well as layered items within the frame itself?

This project could easily be changed with each season and feature your favorite Echo Park collections. That makes this a home decor project that's built to last!

Folded 3d "Pinstripes" Stars

Want a really easy craft you make in a matter of minutes? Try folding a 3d star. To create this project you will need: a star template, die cut, or digital cut shape; patterned paper; a bone folder; and a scoring board. Here's what we'll be making today:

1. To create this project, trace or die cut a star from the "Pinstripes" collection patterned paper.

2. Using the bone folder and scoring board, scor from the point of the star down through the center of the star to the downward point of star points on the bottom (see close-up photo for better picture).

3. Repeat this for every point in the star. Use your fingers to fold back each point to get these 3-d stars.

This project looks best when you use several different sizes of stars in a cluster. You can also use star paper punches to create a smaller embellishment.

Looking for something feminine and pretty to dress up your daughter's room? How about an altered frame? You can take any frame and add layers of paper, die cuts, twine, ephemera and more to get a beautiful piece of art that looks like this:
