Hey Echo Park friends and fans,
Becki here to share with you a really fun and really pretty 3D wedding cake that I created with the Wedding Bliss collection. This little wedding cake is a labor of love. It was a bit of work but I do love the finished cake.
I used two cut files to create this cake.
THIS is the cut file I used for the cake (minus the birthday banner) and
THIS is the cut file I used for the flowers. While there are quite a few pieces to this cake, it came together very easily.
When I picked out papers for this cake, I knew I wanted a white cake with pink frosting. I chose the small flower patterned paper for the frosting and the white patterned paper from the solids patterned paper pack. Using white cardstock would have made the cake look more flat than I wanted.

The flowers were also created with papers from the solids patterned paper pack. These flowers have tons of layers. I gently curled the petals around the end of my paper piercer to create a little bit of dimension. The leaves are bent and slightly creased at the end of the leaf. The center of each flower is embellished with an enamel dot.

The sentiment on the cake was cut from black cardstock using the "love story" die set. Isn't this the perfect sentiment for a wedding cake.
At the base of the layers I adhered small white pom pom trim. I think this made it look more realistic like there was a layer of frosting. At the top of each layer, I added white ruffled ribbon. Again, I love how this made the cake look even yummier and more realistic.
If you want to create a Wedding cake of your own, here are a few of tips and tricks I learned along the way.
1. use a strong liquid adhesive for the flowers.
