Hello crafters! Anya here today, and I would like to share a fun back-to-school project with you. It is hard to believe that fall is right around the corner and kids are starting school already, but I was excited to create this wall hanger with pockets to be on track with my daughter’s schedule!
To create this project I took one pocket page of 12 3x3 pockets and cut it in half, which gave me 6 pockets. You can use 3x4 pockets, or use a fuse tool for custom sized pockets. For each of the pockets I cut a 3x3 piece of black cardstock. I chose black, because it reminds me of a school’s blackboard.
For the base of this wall hanger, I used the “Confetti Dots” pattern paper that was adhered to the kraft cardstock, for a more solid structure. Next, I trimmed the “World Traveler” pattern paper to 11x11” and glued it to the base, offsetting it to the right. From the “Deep Sea Fun” pattern paper I cut a 7x9” piece and added it on top. Now, using two strips of double sided red tape, I adhered the pocket page to my project.
I filled all of the pockets, numbered them, labeled each day with the “special” using letter stickers, and decorated the wall hanger with fall leaves, border stickers, chipboard, enamel dots, paper clips, and little drops of Enamel Accents. Now, whenever the schedule changes, all I have to do is switch the inserts for the pockets! You can use a similar idea for many other things to help you stay organized!
To create this project I chose an orange and black color scheme, since these are the colors of our school and used the following products:
“Magic and Wonder” Confetti Dots patterned paper
“Go.See.Explore” World Traveler patterned paper
“Under the Sea” Deep Sea Fun pattern paper
“I Love Family” Family Tree pattern paper
“I love Family” Alpha Stickers
“Fall is in the Air” Chipboard
Yellow/Teal Coordinating Solid paper
Red/Orange Coordinating Solid paper
