"Gone Camping" Birthday Card Duo

Hi friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today, sharing a couple of birthday cards I whipped up with the "Gone Camping" collection from Carta Bella!  I just love the illustrations in this collection and thought the 3x4 cards would be really fun on a set of cards.

I used the 3x4 cards, a few other patterned papers, and some stickers to create both cards.  They are pretty much the same design with a few little tweaks.

I also put my manual die-cutting machine to work for these cards!  The stitched circles and the little tags, in addition to the "Happy Birthday" sentiment were all created with dies!

"A Dog's Tail" Poodle Card

Hello everyone! Anya here today to share a card I made using the lovely “A Dog’s Tail” collection. There are so many creative elements and details on every piece of patterned paper; it’s no surprise I had a lot of fun working with this set. The papers also vary from fashionable to friendly, so it’s a perfect fit for any dog lover.

I decided to take my card in a more elegant direction, to emphasize the elegance of a poodle. Obviously the poodle had to go to the top of the embellishment cluster (aren’t dogs always in the center of attention?)  I also found that the subtle dots, bold stripes, and modern plaid patterns suit each other so well.

I used the Decorative Label Die to add some elegance to the card, to which I added two small white Brads. The little paw print stickers became the perfect way to balance the entire card.

"Gone Camping" Cards

Hello Carta Bella friends! It’s been a while since we went camping, but this collection really brought back the memories from camping a few years ago. The plaids, woodgrains, and themed tags set the camping environment for any project so easily.   

For my first card, I thought it would be a fun idea to make sort of a 3D scene, so I used a forest background and placed a popped-up bear sticker as my main character along with a few other details.

The “Travel Patches” patterned paper was definitely a favorite of mine amongst the others. I fussy cut the wood slices from the paper and used them to add interest in both cards. It’s so simple to get a design going with these wood slices.

"You Are Pawsome" Dog House Treat Box

Hello, friends! Jana Eubank here with a fun dog house-shaped treat box for the dog lover in your life. I used the adorable new A Dog's Tail collection for this project. Check it out below!

 

I used my Silhouette Cameo electronic die cutting machine to cut out the dog house. The base of the box is cut from the Puppy Play Paper. The roof was cut from Classic Green Felt Designer Cardstock and then covered with Furry Friends paper shingles (green polka dots).

 

 

Next, I added a piece of acetate over the dog house door and added some grass border die cuts (cut using a die from my stash) along the bottom of each of the four walls. Next, I decorated the front of the house with several stickers from the Element Sticker Sheet and a dog that I fussy-cut from the 3x4 Journaling Cards paper. I die cut the heart above the door using the Postage Stamp Die Set.

 

 

I placed a treat inside of a cellophane bag, tied it with a bow and then placed it inside of the gift box. I then tied everything closed with a cheery, red, plaid ribbon.

 

 

Every gift needs a cute tag, don't you think?! The tags in the Frames & Tags Ephemera pack make it easy! I attached one to the bow at the top of the box using a bit of white twine, and then decorated the tag with a few small die cut hearts (Flower Set #5 Die Set).

 

 

Now this fun little treat is ready to give to your PAW-some friend! They will be delighted to open such a fun gift!

"Gone Camping" Layout

Hello there! It's Tya up on the blog today sharing a layout featuring the amazing "Gone Camping" collection - what a fun collection this is! I love the art in all of these papers and icons! 

 We love to camp in our family so this collection was perfect for scrapbooking some of my favorite photos of us camping in our favorite spot up in the mountains. I started with some kraft cardstock . I added a few water color paint splatters on the backgroud for some interest and then played with a few of the pattern papers in the collection. I love adding  little embellisment and  die cut clusters on my layouts. Here are a few close ups of the clusters:

"Have A Doggone Happy Birthday" Card Set

Hello friends!  It's Wendy Sue, and I'm happy to be joining you on the blog today with a couple of cards I created with the "A Dog's Tail" Collection!  I don't have a dog myself, but I loved the sweet illustrations and sentiments in this collection, so I still wanted to find a way to use it!  I decide to create a set of birthday cards - I struggle with creating more masculine looking cards, but this collection made it easy! I made two cards with the exact same design, just different images in the circles:

The designer dies played a big part in this card too - from the stitched circle die I used to cut out the images from the 4x4 and 4x6 journaling cards papers, to the sentiments on the bottom - they made it quick and easy!

I printed the "Have a Doggone" part of the sentiment and folded each paper strip to create a little dimensional banner too - so quick and easy!

Camping Trail Mix

Do you know someone who loves trail mix? Hello, Everyone! Jana Eubank here. I happen to know several people who would be delighted to get a large jar of trail mix as a gift, ... it is their favorite treat!

 

For today's project I decorated a large jar of this peanut-ty treat using the Carta Bella Paper Gone Camping collection. I'm thinking this would be perfect for Father's Day or even as a thoughtful gift for the guy in your life heading out for a day of fishing. He will love having a delicious snack to take along!

 

 

The first thing I did was wrap the jar with a strip of the striped Campout paper. I then added a band of the the fishing lure patterned Fly Fishing paper on top of the striped paper.  The top of the jar is decorated with a circle cut from the plaid paper in the 6x6 paper pad.

 

 

Next, I fussy-cut three wood slices from the Travel Patches paper and grouped them together on the front of the jar to anchor the rest of the decorative elements. The main piece is the Fishing Tackle Die Cut from the Frames & Tags Ephemera pack. I added the fisherman sticker on top of the die cut along with a few trees and the "Fishing Hole" sign stickers for a bit of scenery. A few die cut pine branches (Be Merry Branch Die Set) are tucked behind the left side.

 

 

I tucked in a few more branches cut from the Classic Green Felt Designer Cardstock on the right side of the label, and then added a group of fish "caught" ... I mean CUT ... from the Fish Facts Paper. A bit of jute tied around the neck of the jar finishes everything off!

A Pawsitively Perfect Card!

Hello everyone! It's Tya up on the blog today sharing a handmade card featuring the awesome "A Dog's Tail" collection. Being a dog lover, I had such a fun time playing with all of the fun papers and icons in this collection - it is all too cute! 

To make my card, I started with a 5x5 inch cardstock base made from some Ultra White Felt Cardstock.  I then grabbed a red and green dot pattern paper from the 6x6 paper pad. I also cut a strip of Tan paper from the Coordinating Solids set and layed it across the middle of the cards.  I tied a piece of white crochet thread on one end and tied a knot in the end.  I then used a few die cuts from the Ephemera pack and layered them on the front of the card with some foam tape. I then added a few stickers from the Element sticker sheet .

 I added a few banner pieces to the top edge of of the card and tucked them under the striped die cut.

This was such a fun little card to make and I can't wait to give it  to one of my many dog loving friends.

"Passport" Mini Album

Hello paper crafting friends! Have you had a case where a long lasting idea meets a perfect partner and finally becomes a project? That’s what happened when the idea of a denim fabric cover and the “Passport” collection collaborated into a perfect little mini book! Anya here today, and I am thrilled to share this travel book with you!

To create this book, I started with the cover. This book measures about 6x7” and it is 1.75” in thickness. I used heavy cardstock for the cover that was covered with a piece of denim and a strip of white faux leather.

I decorated the front with pieces of paper and ephemera that were stitched down to keep them in place and added stickers and chipboard pieces on top. Before finishing the inside of the album, I also added a few brads to the cover.

All the inside pages were made of White Linen Cardstock by Carta Bella. This cardstock is pretty heavy and holds the pages of the album nicely.

This mini book was made entirely from the “Passport” collection set. I covered each page spread with coordinating pieces of patterned paper and added die cut frames for the photos to be added later.

Also, I’ve added an interactive element to every spread, like a folding page or a pocket for additional photos and journaling. This mini album holds at least 40 photos, mostly 3x4” size.

"Mermaid Tales" Seashell Mini Album

Good morning everyone! Anya here today and I would like to share a mini album I created with the “Mermaid Tales” collection. I love making shaped albums and this one was created in the shape of a seashell.

I used a digital die cutting shape and my Silhouette to cut out all of the pages. For each page I cut the shape twice and glued them back to back to make them sturdier and to have the design in the right orientation on both sides. 

I wanted to make the mini book ahead of time and fill it with photos after we come back from a family vacation. Here are a few more photos from the mini book:
