"Let It Snow" Shaped Mini Album

Good morning everyone! Anya here today and I am excited to share with you a mini book I created with the “Let It Snow” collection. I love to use Carta Bella paper for shaped mini albums because this paper is heavier and the album holds its shape so nicely.

I started by creating an ornament shape in the Silhouette studio, then I arranged four shapes per 12x12 sheet and cut a whole bunch of the same shape using the Electronic Die Cutting machine.

After cutting all of the ornament shaped pages for the album, I glued two pieces back to back to make each page more stable and arranged them in pairs so that they would compliment each other.

All of the journaling cards papers I cut into pieces and used them for layers and as decorative pieces in the album. I also used the Ephemera, stickers, chipboard, die cut pieces and enamel dots to decorate each page spread, which was a lot of fun!

One of my favorite parts in this mini book was the interactive element of a folded card to include photos inside. To create those, I used a 3x4 Journaling card and a folded piece of white cardstock that measures 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" . To the front of this cardstock base I adhered the journaling card and added the whole piece onto the page of an album. I further decorated the front of the card and around it, leaving space for photos inside.

For the cover of the album, I used glitter cardstock to cut a few pieces, made a shaker and decorated the top of it with stickers, enamel dots and a decorative brad. I left the back of the album plain, but tripled the thickness of the cover.

I punched all of the pages at the top with a small hole punch and I used a silver ring to hold the album together. I also used white Nuvo Drops on some page spreads to add the snow effect, letting one page dry before turning to another.
