Pirate Tales Card Trio

Ahoy there, Matey! It’s Jana Eubank here today with a trio of cards created with the Pirate Tales collection. This collection is so fabulous with its variety of freebooters ready to head out on their next adventure!

This first card features the Skulls & Cross Bones Die Set. I placed it on the helm fussy-cut from the 4x4 Journaling Cards. I added the “Believe” word across the bones, and then placed the “X Marks the Spot” sticker below for the sentiment. The Stitched Rectangle die cut frames the everything with a nice pop of yellow.

This second card features a pirate that was fussy-cut from the 6x4 Journaling Cards paper. The bracket die cut from the Ephemera Pack makes a nice scene for the background. I added a few chipboard pieces along the bottom of the die cut and then tucked a ship (created with the Pirate Ship Die Set) behind the left edge.

This last card features a young pirate (fussy-cut from the 3x4 Journaling Cards paper) dreaming about his next treasure hunt. I fussy-cut a banner from the Constellations paper to go across the top and added texture to the solid background paper using the Mermaid Scales embossing folder from the Mermaid Dreams collection.

These cards were so much fun to put together! They will be perfect for giving to the boys and men in my life. Have a great day!

Awesome Pirate Layout

Hello Friends! Dorymar with you today, and I am so excited to share with you a new layout with the new Pirate Tales Collection.  This collection is filled with many fun pirate things! Arrrggghhhh!

 

When you think about pirates, you associate it quickly with males, but in this case, I used a beautiful picture of my little girl in her pirate costume. Isn’t this cute? For the base I used the Ahoy Matey Patterned Paper and a piece of the back of the 3x4 Journaling Cards Patterned Paper reduce at 11.5" x 11.5".

 

For this page, I wanted to play with colors in the collection, so I used a Ship Wheel cut file from Echo Park Paper Silhouette Store to create a fun background.  The wheel was cut from the back of the Shark Bait Patterned Paper, backed with Sea Monster Patterned Paper, also I used a transparent paper and sequins to create a big shaker! To give the rustic touch I added some jute ribbon, twine and black enamel dots! The result was FANTASTIC!

 

To add more fun, I used the Sail Away 6x6 Stencil with a brown art crayon to add a bit of color to the background.

I fussy cut a pirate and a ship from Journaling Cards Patterned Papers and added them along each side of the photo.  I added stickers, die cuts as well are chipboard pieces to decorate my page and of course I used some dimensional adhesive on most of my embellishments. I love layers!

 

I used the Pirate Sticker Banner with a combination of die cut pieces to create the title.  For some extra depth and dimension, I used some dimensional adhesive underneath.  With a black pen I emphasize the Pirate Word and just look perfect!

"Flower Market" Easter Basket Tags

Hippity hoppity, Easter’s on its way! Good thing Flower Market, a new spring release from Echo Park, is in full bloom. This gorgeous line is just perfect for any upcoming spring occasion, from Easter to Mother’s Day to a day out, enjoying the sunshine. Megan Hoeppner here. I was inspired by the fabulous Flower Market to create a set of Easter basket tags. 

 

 

As a scrapbooker, I can’t resist incorporating photos into my projects, so my tags are all double-sided, with a pic on one side and paper happiness on the other.

 

 

I adore the tiny embroidery hoop die in the Market Frames Tags Die Set, so it became my springboard for this ensemble. 

 

 

To give the hoop a more 3D feel, I cut five hoops and glued them all together, using a hoop cut from the woodgrain side of the Embroidery Hoops patterned paper on the top and cardstock-cut hoops for the bulk. 

 

 

 

Several of the motifs on the 2x2 Squares patterned paper already have hoop imagery, so I trimmed those out to use with my die cut hoops. Isn’t this paper the cutest?!

 

 

For some of the tags, I left two-three paper squares connected. I then scored on the line between the squares to create a tag that opens. 

 

 

My family gets together every year to exchange Easter baskets, so I thought I’d used these tags to dress up their baskets, but then a little brown box got me thinking. We also get together each year to die eggs. Wouldn’t it be fun to make bitty baskets from such boxes for your family members to have and display their favorite dyed egg in? 

 

 

I attached the patterned paper to the box using glittered Mod Podge. I love the extra sparkle this gives our basket! 

 

 

For the basket’s handle, I pleated washi tape and stitched it in place. I then attached the handle to the basket and had a basket display in no time. 

 

 

Another basket idea: a berry basket dressed up with washi tape and a pattered paper handle. Simple yet sweet.

 

 

Of course, you could always just tie your tag to a basket you have on hand. Any approach is sure to be appreciated. 

 

 

This kind of photo keepsake would also make a sweet Mother’s Day gift. After all, that holiday will be here before we know it. To gift the tags, package them together and possibly give them with a little photo/ornament tree or display of some type. 

 

 

I hope this trip down the bunny trail leaves you feeling inspired to say cheese and enjoy making something you’ll love.

Bloom & Grow with Flower Market

Hi, there! It’s Jana Eubank and today I am sharing a layout about my daughter and one of her first experiences singing a solo in front of a large auditorium filled with people. It was something she had always wanted to do, and was definitely a blooming moment for her!

I used the 3x4 Journaling Cards paper with its soft pink color for the background of this page. Before I began adhering photos or anything else, I used a scraper tool to add gesso in a large circle in the center of the page. On top of that I used texture paste and the Market Dot 6x6 Stencil to add a subtle, dimensional pattern. You can catch a glimpse of the texture if you look closely at the right side of the photo below.

I fussy-cut the smaller floral from the Border Strips paper to hug the corner of my photos. I die cut the Lovely Branches using Evergreen Shimmer Cardstock to add to the flower cluster and fill it out a bit more. I love how much dimension the die cuts add!

 

Next, I stamped my title in dark green ink using the Echo Park Animal Safari Alphabet Stamp Set. I die cut an Ampersand using the dark pink polka dot paper from the 6x6 Paper Pad. Another fussy-cut flower from the 2x2 Squares paper accents the title.

To tie everything together I added cream enamel dots and heart stickers (Element Sticker) in a few spots around the page.

The best part of making this layout was adding the textured details with the stencil, die cut leaves, and enamel dots. I loved making this page!

A Lovely Flower Market Layout

Hiya scrappy peeps! Suzanna here today to share with you a layout I created using the gorgeous Flower Market collection. Did you know that Echo Park has coordinating digital cut files available at the Silhouette Store? I LOVE using these files with the collections!

This layout began with an 8.25 diameter circle that I put slap bang in the middle of that wood grain paper and then constructed around it. I then worked in Silhouette Design Studio to enlarge the digital cut file and duplicate then “flip horizontally” the same file this giving me a top, right and bottom, left cluster to work with.

 

I used various shades of pink to cut out the florals, one of the aquas for the greenery and in wanting an deeper hue of the aqua, I opted to cut out some more greenery with watercolor paper and used watercolors. I did the same with the accompanying Designer Die (Lovely Branches) that accompanies the collection to be able to add some smaller greenery and expand the clusters as well as provide some depth and texture to the layout.

The background behind the circle was created using one of the FOUR stencils that accompany this collection and some modeling paste. The subtle tone on tone pattern add both texture and visual interest to the layout as well as provide a softer resting place for you eye as there is so much to look at on this page.

A mix of elements from the Ephemera pack, Chipboard Accents and the Element Stickers compliment the layout and add the small details that really personalize a layout and make it your own!

Scrapbook Layout Featuring the "Flower Market" Collection

Good morning memory keepers! When I first discovered scrapbooking, my oldest daughter was about 6 years old. Even though it's really hard to believe, she turned 21 this year. And today I am feeling especially thankful for our wonderful hobby that lets us record so many little memories through the years that fly by so fast!

There are so many different ways and perspectives you can tell a story from. But no matter of the style, format or design points of view, what is important is that little by little our stories are being told. One of my favorite things in scrapbooking is actually adding a newly finished layout to the album. And I love to see how our library of memories grows.

Anya here today, and I am sharing my latest layout I created using the gorgeous “Flower Market” collection. I absolutely adore the colors in this line! My story today I recorded on a 8.5x11” double page. I used the right side for larger photos and journaling and kept the left side in a pretty simple grid design. It gave me enough space to play and to record memories.

My grid side of the page spread was totally inspired by the “2x2 Squares” patterned paper. I cut these squares apart and trimmed them to just a bit smaller than 2”. To the grid with fun squares I added a few photos same size and to the side I added a black strip of paper with some fussy cut flowers to break a very “blocky” design.

Also, I wanted to add a little feminine touch to this layout by cutting the journaling strip in two pieces, punching holes in them side by side and using a crochet twine to tie these pieces together.

Mermaid Dreams Travelers Notebook Project

Who knew a traveler’s notebook (TN) could take you to the depths of the ocean? That’s some serious mileage! Get there in an instant using the darling Mermaid Dreams line. 

 

Inspired by the motifs in this collection, I scrapbooked the photos from my daughter’s birthday photo shoot, but you don’t have to be as literal. Mermaid magic would be fun on a page about the pool, about play time at home, even about you and your girl friends or your fierce style. 

 

 

I used the embossing folder to add texture to my project.

 

 

I paired fish stickers with enamel dots to create lively little bubble-blowing friends on my page. 

 

 

I wrapped a sticker from the collection around a paperclip to create a flag for my layout. 

 

 

Because each technique is simple, my TN spread came together quickly. Leaving me with enough time to add a third page, made using the TN divided page protector. 

 

 

I’ve sure had fun diving deep with you today. I hope you enjoy the project and find yourself inspired to create something new.

"I Was a Mermaid" Card

Hello, Echo Park fans! It's Tya up on the blog today sharing with you handmade card featuring the lovely Mermaid Dreams collection. It has such beautiful colors! I am so loving purple right now so I included a few of my favorite purple papers on my card. 

I created this card by using a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch piece of white cardstock for the card base. I find myself always reaching for the 6x6 paper pads when I make cards. The small scale is just right for card making so I chose some pattern papers from there to decorate my card front. I used a piece of dark blue paper and glued it to the card base. I cut a piece of coral and light teal paper from the 6x6 paper pad. I cut a scalloped edge on the coral paper with a border punch. 

 I then cut a slightly smaller piece of light purple bubble paper out. I ran this paper through my manual die cutting machine and used the Mermaid Scales Embossing Folder to add some dimension to this paper. I then located the small multicolor bubbles paper from the 6x6 paper pad and cut this paper into a banner shape. I decorated the card with a few different stickers from the Element sticker sheet. The sentiment, shell, seahorse, and mermaid are all stickers that I mounted to the card with some foam tape. I added 2 small rhinestone jewels to the bottom corner.

 I really liked this starfish and wanted to use it as a decorative element. I found this on one of the 4x4 Journaling Cards and fussy cut it out. I cut 2 small strips of purple stripe paper from the 6x6 paper pad and notched the ends to make 2 banner shapes. I glued these to the back of the starfish. I added a blue twine bow and a rhinestone brad from the Decorative Brads to further embellish the starfish. I add this to the card front with some foam tape. 

 Here is another look at the card all put together.

Mermaid off Duty Scrapbook Layout

Hello Friends! It’s Dorymar here today and I’m sharing a fun layout I created using the NEW and SUPER Fabulous Mermaid Dreams Collection from Echo Park. This collection is beautiful, colorful and perfect! I created this layout using a picture of my lovely little girl in our family vacation to the Bahamas in 2017.

I used Mystic Mermaid patterned paper for my background instead of a piece of Starfish Kisses patterned paper.  First, I reduced the Mystic Mermaid Paper at 11.5” x 11.5” then I created in the center 2 circles one of 8 ¾” and other one of 9” diameters with a circle cutter.

With the Be a Mermaid 6 x 4 Stamp I stamped many bubbles using clear embossing powder and clear drops to add texture and give it a touch that simulates the bottom of the ocean. This make it look fantastic!

I cut up pieces of journaling card papers and used those pieces to create layers, then added some pieces form the Mermaid Dreams 6x13 Chipboard Accents. I love this effect around the circles. I have tons of details!

I always use pop dots on my pages to create more dimension. The Mermaid Dreams Element Sticker Sheet that comes with this collection has tons of cute designs. I use some of them to create the Title; Mermaid off duty!

To give the final touch to the project I cut out a few branches in the Mermaids Dreams Solids Papers using the Lovely Branches Die Set from the Flower Market Collection by Carta Bella.
