Hiya scrappy peeps! Suzanna here today to share with you a more heart felt layout created using the Carta Bella Botanical Gardens collection. This lovely, floral collection is just perfect for those “emotional” moments with sayings such as “choose happiness” and “stand tall”. These shadow photos and a photo of my legs while out walking use a number of those heartfelt sayings to document a morning walk with a friend past gorgeous, blooming gardens in our community.
The Sweet Pea Garland patterned paper creates a perfect frame for the project as it provides contrast to the black of the shadows and my work out pants in the photos. This is also the uniting piece from which I pulled my color palate and chose the coordinating papers to accompany the remainder of the layout.
The gorgeous trio of blooms nestled around each of the three photos were fussy cut from the same patterned paper in both 12x12 and 6x6 size (from the 6x6 paper pad) thus giving me variation in size of the flowers. The trio also creates a visual triangle which softens the rigidity inherent to a grid based layout such as this.
The “Stand Tall” stamp set has sentiments that are perfect for motivational references, such a graduation card, or for subtitles to support a layout about making choices about the little things in life. I stamped using various different ink colors and had to mask off parts of the phrases in order to get the mix of colors.
This particular collection does not have enamel dots that accompany it however the dots from the recent Carta Bella Flower Market collection coordinate perfectly as it has a similar color scheme to that used here in Botanical Garden.
I love how the feminine softness of this botanical themed collection really softened what could otherwise be harsh photos thanks to the morning light. There is SO much potential in this collection – wedding photos, engagement photos, all about me… Really, the list goes on and on!
