"Little Lumberjack" Woodsy Gift Boxes

Hello Friends! Michelle here with you today to share some woodsy gift boxes made with the Echo Park Paper “Little Lumberjack” Collection. This collection has something for everyone and it's perfect for all the guys (and girls!) out there who love the great outdoors.

My tree gift boxes were made with the “B” sides of  Little Lumberjack “4X6 Journaling Cards” Patterned Paper and Little Lumberjack “3X4 Journaling Cards” Patterned Paper. The numerous plaids and woodgrains make this collection a must-have! I embellished each tree with a touch of twine and some fun elements from the Little Lumberjack 6X13 Chipboard Accents. These unique gift boxes can be used for jewelry, candy, pens, cash, and numerous other little trinkets and baubles for your favorite little lumberjack.

 

The tent box was so much fun to decorate and the simple shape made it easy to assemble. The flag was made by gluing strips of plaid from the Little Lumberjack 6X6 Paper Pad, to a piece of wire and decorated with the  Little Lumberjack Element Stickers.

I used elements from Little Lumberjack 6X13 Chipboard Accents, Little Lumberjack Element Sticker,  and the Little Lumberjack Frames & Tags Ephemera to embellish the front of the tent. It looks like someone has been out chopping wood!

 

I truly loved working with this collection, and I can't wait to make more projects with the Little Lumberjack Collection by Echo Park Paper.

"Little Lumberjack" Hike Layout

Hiya scrappy peeps! Suzanna here today and I’m sharing with you my ongoing love for large photos! I print my pictures at home and don’t have a large format printer. But I can print letter size and that fits nicely on a 12x12 piece of paper with pleasing proportions. This is the perfect way to scrapbook scenic photos!

Not wanting the color clash of the photo with the colors in this collection, I converted my photo to black and white. This created silhouettes of my husband and children which allows the grandeur of the cliffs in the backdrop to really stand out.

Typically, I am not one for lots of “stuff”. I am pretty judicious in how I use embellishments. And while there aren’t a lot of embellishments, there are more than I would typically use. I tried to use more scene creating pieces.

If you know me, you know that not only am I all about large(r) photos but I’m also all about my digital cut files. I used one of the cut files available in the Silhouette store to nestle my title. The papers in the 6x6 paper pad are perfect with the smaller scaled patterns for this type of thing!

Also note how, while I did do something outdoor themed, I didn’t do something “lumberjack”. There are enough supporting elements that this collection could easily be used for generic outdoor type activities, just as I did today!

Be Yourself "Little Lumberjack" Card

Hello, Echo Park fans! Its Tya back again with another handmade card and this one is currently one of my most favorite cards I have made to date! Maybe it's because of my mild obsession with anything plaid or buffalo check, but man this is one CUTE collection! This card is made with the "Little Lumberjack" collection and it was so much fun to create!

I loved all of the cute sentiments in this collection but decided on the one front and center on my card. It is from the Chipboard Accents and makes a great focal point. I love the different patterns as well in the collection and used the 6x6 paper pad for all of my pattern papers as well as the Red/Tan Coordinating Solid.

Here is a close up of the tag. I included the tag from the Ephemera pack and the arrow banner is from the Frames and Tags Ephemera. The stickers from the Element Sticker Sheet and I also added a couple of stars from the Chipboard Accents. I tied some black twine to the top of the tag.

This collection is for anyone with a little adventurer or even a cute little baby card. Filled with bears, moose, trees, animal tracks and all the flannel your heart desires - you will LOVE this collection and be amazed at all the projects you can create! "Merry Christmas" Letters To Santa

Hi there! Megan Hoeppner, here. Let’s talk traditions. One of my favorites isn’t one I went into motherhood expecting. It’s about my kiddos’ letters to the big guy up North. I scrapbook my kids’ letters to Santa. Here’s a small sampling of this year’s letter from Maggie, my seven-year-old:

 

I just love looking back on them for several reasons:

 

1. It’s fun to see what gifts they’re interested in from year to year. 

 

2. When they’re old enough to write their own letters, it’s extra adorable. 

 

3. I think/hope they’ll love having them back when they’re adults. :) 

 

 

Apparently, my daughter celebrates Christmas in July, because she has been talking about the gift she wants from Santa this year since The 4th. LOL It’s a very specific gift, and I love that she’s written it out in such detail for the big guy. 

 

 

As Santa’s #1 fan, I adore the Merry Christmas collection and its bowl-full-of-jelly goodness! So many sweet St. Nick’s in the design. I knew it was the perfect choice for this project.

“Merry Christmas” Christmas Ornament

Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year. Baking, shopping, wrapping...I love it all! My favorite Christmas tradition is crafting. I love crafting Christmas gifts! This year, I'm using the Merry Christmas Collection by Carta Bella. The colorful retro inspired graphics will appeal to people of all ages.

Everyone loves receiving ornaments for their tree. They are perfect gifts for coworkers and cousins, and neighbors and nieces. I embellished the star with glitter and Carta Bella Merry Christmas Chipboard Accents. The graphics are timeless and will look great on any Christmas tree.

"Merry Christmas" Gift Wrapping

Hello, friends! It’s Dorymar and I’m back today to share an idea for wrapping up those holiday gift this Christmas. I used the Merry Christmas Collection from Carta Bella to create a fun set of Christmas cards and a very simple gift bag, perfect for a gift you would like to take to a family or friend!

As a base of the bag I used a combination of the “Countdown to Christmas” paper and the “Snow Globes” paper, then I added a small strip of the “Christmas Squares” paper to make a contrast on the top of the bag. To decorate it, I cut several poinsettia flowers using “Christmas Poinsettia Die Set from the new “Here Comes Santa Claus” collection by Echo Park. To give the final touch I added a sticker of a family in a car with their Christmas shopping and the phrase Merry Christmas on the bottom right of the bag.

For the card I started with an Ultra White Linen Cardstock base piece with a measure of 10”x5”. Then I used a few pieces of leftovers of the papers used previously in the gift bag.  On the top of the card I added few stickers from the Element Sticker Sheet.  The Santa Clause with the card sentiment is from the Frames and Tags Ephemera.  Then I added a beautiful poinsettia cutted out from the Red/Lt. Green Coordinating Solid paper.

When I am creating Christmas cards, I like to make several in different sizes. Here I show you two additional cards that I made using this magnificent collection. The largest card measure 8”x5” and the small card measure 8”x4” on both I used the Ultra White Linen Cardstock for the bases. To decorate the larger card, I used a combination of the Snow Globes paper with the Christmas Squares and at the top I added a set of stickers with a frame and the sentiment from the Frames and Tag Ephemera pack.  These pieces are added to the card with foam tape to give dimension.  To the final touch I added a white ribbon bow to give texture from the Element Sticker Sheet. To create the last card, I used the leftovers of the previously used papers and continued adding beautiful elements of the collection.

A Cozy Christmas Layout

Hiya scrappy peeps! Suzanna here today to share with you a Christmas layout! Yes, I said Christmas and yes, I am well aware that for some of you, it’s a tad early for Christmas. I get it. But if you don’t jump now, all the good stuff is going to be gone. Echo Park is releasing a plethora of fantastic Christmas collections this month and you are sure to find one (of the six) that has your heart. Or maybe all six? Today’s layout is created using A Cozy Christmas, a cozy collection indeed with the warm, deep, rich colors. There’s even a chipboard mantle to cozy up to!

Today’s post is all about the embellishment clusters that support my photos. A bit of a walk through in why I put things where they are. To me, the star of the layout should be the photos and the story, or the journaling. Whatever else is on the page is there to highlight the photos and accompanying story. In this case, there are three clusters, each of which is strategically located. The trio create a visual triangle that moves your eye around the page; through the title and journaling to the photos and back up again.

While not an integral part of the cluster, by having the title and journaling below the top, right cluster (with the “joyful” tag), I am able to pull everything together. The title spans between the “joyful” cluster and moves your eye to the “merry and bright” cluster with the Tree Farm Greenery Die cuts that provide texture to the layout.

Varying each of the embellishment clusters adds some interest to the page. Each cluster has a mix of manually die cut shapes, tags, stickers and chipboard. This adds a variety of depths and textures to the clusters.

Not all of your embellishments need be “whole”. In other words, it’s okay to have them overlap. Not only does this provide depth and layers but it provides unity. Touching embellishments draw the elements together and provide flow.

"A Cozy Christmas" Card Quad

Hi there - Tya here! I'm so happy to be able to share with you a fun batch of cards I made featuring the simply adorable "Cozy Christmas" collection! This collection is soooo fun! I love the farmhouse type decor feel of this collection! Here are the cards I created:

Here are a few close-ups of the cards. As you can see I used many of the collections cute embellishments on my cards. This one has stickers from the Element Sticker sheet and some Enamel Dots. One trick I did with this card, that I have been loving is adding a layer of vellum between some of my design elements so the patterns don't compete with each other, I love how the vellum softens up the green plaid paper here behind my ephemera sentiment.

On this card, I used the "Tree Farm Greenery" Die Set and  I love all the texture the die gives this card. I added a bit of Glossy Accents on the berries for some shine. The die cuts are backed on some Natural White Linen paper that I ran through my Big Shot using the Holiday Branches Embossing  Folder. 

This card has a sticker wreath layered with one of the Chipboard Phrases elements. Isn't that woodgrain paper so warm and welcoming?

This card was fun to make.  I made a little scene on the top section of the card with some stickers and another Chipboard Phrase. I love layering these 2 types of elements together. The different dimensions as far as the stickers being flat, and the chipboard a bit more raised, create some fun depth and interest. 

I added two of the red rhinestone Decorative Brads here on the bottom section of the card. I made a little policy envelope type decorative design here some black twine laced around the brads and then tied in a bow. Again, a great way to add some texture and dimension to your cards.

A Cozy Christmas Table

At our home, Christmas dinners are always a cozy affair. This year, I'm adding treat boxes and napkin rings made with A Cozy Christmas by Echo Park Paper.

Our family is growing and I love that we all squeeze around the table. It is a cozy dining experience! I like to make it special by making cute treat boxes and napkin holders for everyone.  I love how they came out this year! I fussy cut the wreaths from the “Christmas Cheer” Patterned Paper. Cutting out the wreaths by hand was so relaxing. I finished cutting them all while watching a movie one evening. There's so many wreaths on the paper, that you'll be able to make treat boxes for everyone! I added the shiny matching Enamel Dots and a pine bough cut from the A Cozy ChristmasTree Farm Greenery Die Set. Don't forget to make a couple extra wreaths for unexpected guests. Everyone's welcome at Christmas!

The Christmas Tree boxes open from the bottom. The tree stump, made from the gorgeous “Warm Wishes” Patterned Paper, is secured with glue. Doesn't it look like REAL wood? The tree boxes are reusable and open easily with a tab. I added a tiny bit of coordinating Tis the Season Washi Tape to make certain that the trees could be heavily laden with goodies!

The coordinating napkin holders were made in a similar fashion. The napkins were tied with twine and topped with a sweet bow cut with my electronic cutting machine and topped with another pine bough cut from A Cozy Christmas Solids Kit. I finished off the napkin ring with hoops that were cut from that same “Christmas Cheer” Patterned Paper. I love that paper and I'm so glad that by using it, I was able give my table a cohesive look.

Now I can pack away the treat boxes and napkin sets until I'm ready to set my Cozy Christmas Table!
