Hiya scrappy peeps! Suzanna here today to share with you a double page Christmas layout. I always a plethora of photos from the month and December and the best way to document those “bigger” events with lots of photos I want to use are with two page spreads.
When creating double page spreads, I find that I like to have the softness of round elements that break of that rigid, grid feeling I feel often accompany having so many photos on a page. This large Holly and Ivy Wreath (from Nic Squirrell) really aids with providing a visual element that does just that, wouldn’t you agree?
By using a mix of enamel dots, chipboard and cut paper, there are varying shades and textures of red for the berries in the wreath. This allows for more interest on the layout.
Again, the use of a “round” element, the oval for journaling in a 4x6 journal spot, is used to soften the right angles prominent in layout with so many photos. The chipboard, puffy stickers and die cuts add to the visual scene of the embellishment cluster surrounding the journaling.
The very traditional colors of this collection, Christmas Market, are just sublime and work so well with the colors in my photos. The perfect compliment to the festive occasion!
Thanks for stopping in to today! I look forward to seeing you again soon! I still have one more Christmas layout to share with you!
Suzanna
