Hello there, lovely friends; It’s Lydia Cost today. I’m back again today to share a lovely little project I created using the Baby Boy collection. I think I fell a bit in love with the little animal illustrations in this one. Maybe it’s that I have a little man of my own, but nonetheless, it really is so lovely!
I had some older baby photos of my little one, that have been collecting dust in a photo album of quick snaps. This collection was the perfect excuse to pull them off the shelf and finally get them in a scrapbook.
For this layout I started with the woodgrain paper on the “Welcome Baby Boy” B-side. I really wanted to do some type of stripe to stay with the stripes of the woodgrain. I chose to cut up strips of various patterned papers in the collection. I then fringed some of them to add more character.
By lining them up along the center, it draws the eye in nicely to my large 4x6 photo. I don’t normally keep my photos this size, but it was such a close-up shot of my little one’s baby blues, that I couldn’t bring myself to chop off any bit.
I finished up the layout by backing my photo with some more great patterned paper and adding some wax paper behind it. I then stacked on some chipboard accents and stickers. I arranged the stickers and ephemera around my layout within the fringes. I think this gave the layout even more character.
I really hope you’re inspired to try something new on your layouts. For me in particular, I would never reach for a darker background like this woodgrain. They scare me, but I really do like the outcome! Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look! Have a lovely day, fellow crafters!
