It’s Lydia Cost today, and I’m sharing an altered book that I created using the ridiculously gorgeous Carta Bella Farmhouse Market collection. As soon as I saw this collection I was totally and utterly smitten with it. When I actually got my hands on the papers and bits, I practically swooned. All the papers were of such phenomenal quality that I knew I’d need to use every last one of them on a special project.
I chose this vintage book from my shell that had this great Blue Bell color, which is a great median between lilac and cornflower blue. It paired so well with the color scheme of this collection, that I was so thankful I’d pull it off a thrift store shelf a while back. To start I removed my cover from the binding and got to work putting in my signatures of pages.
I chose to use a book-binding tool for this one by punching my holes my hand and hand stitching it together. I love the whimsical look that it adds to the spine to uphold the great vintage farmhouse vibe of this entire collection. It also made such a lovely area to add my book charm!
I’m planning to give this little book as a gift to a gal friend who lives for everything farmhouse. Her house and life are filled with some of those most beautiful vintage finds and farmhouse chic photos. I just knew this book would be an amazing place for her to document all the big moments in her life! I included lots of pretty bits from the collection and began setting up half the pages to be easily filled with memories.
I swiped on paint, stitched in doilies and tissue papers, attached gorgeous ribbons, and made it super easy for her to be able to simply pop in photos and journaling and call it a day. I’ll even be sure to include a little bag of goodies from the collection to add herself as she’s working. Even the most craft-challenged individuals have good instincts when it comes to adding pretty stickers and washi!
I also fell in love with the dies in this collection. The fonts were so beautiful that I tried to cut out as many as I could to embellish this pretty little book. Those fantastic butterflies on the cover, the amazing fonts for words, and the prettiest little stems and leaves. I hope my gal friend enjoys the extra character that they add to the album!
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek inside this little book of mine. It was a real pleasure putting it together, and I love when a Memorykeeping project feels cathartic. All the hand-stitching, pretty papers, and book pages made for such a great place to escape at the end of the day to create.
I can’t wait to see what you guys are creating with the Farmhouse Market collection, and thanks again for stopping by to peek inside my altered book.
