Oh Happy Day Birdhouse

Spring has arrived and the birds are singing. Oh Happy Day!

Today I’d like to share a whimsical birdhouse that I made with the Carta Bella “Oh Happy Day” Collection. The playful watercolor images and energetic colors have me singing too!

The birdhouse began with Carta Bella Ultra White Felt Cardstock. Its strength and texture make it great for building structures, so I use it often. Decorative panels were cut from the Oh Happy Day “Lovely” Floral” Patterned Paper and set the tone for this happy house that towers over 19 inches tall.

Prominently displayed on the front, is a “Home Sweet Home” sign element I made by cutting a frame from the “B” side of the “4X6 Journaling Cards” Patterned Paper and adhering it with dimensional adhesive on top of a piece from the Oh Happy Day Ephemera Pack.

I love those little frames and used them to make my own layered embellishments. They are adorable!

It wouldn’t be a birdhouse with a bird! This regal guy was made with the “B” side of the “Basket of Flowers” Patterned Paper. He is the king of his own castle!

The base began with the Lt. Pink/Red Coordinating Solid Paper from the Oh Happy Day Solids Kit. I love using the Carta Bella Solids Kits. I never have to worry, because the solid colors are always a perfect match! To accent the base, I used some beautiful florals from the Oh Happy Day Element Sticker as well as die cuts from the Blooming Branches Die Set. This die set is never leaving my desk. I love it so much! It has three individual pieces of foliage that will beautifully accent all of my projects.

I can honestly say that the Carta Bella Oh Happy Day Collection is my new favorite collection. I love the polka dots and painted images. And red, yellow, and pink just happen to be my favorite colors! There’s so many wonderful elements that I know that you’re going to love it too.
