Hello there again, amazing friends; It’s Lydia Cost today. I had the pleasure of working with the cute-as-ever Remember the Magic collection. We’ve had the pleasure as a family to visit California several times, and we always managed to find a day for Disneyland. My little guy was so small, but there is still so much wonder at Disney for any age group. Even I can’t get enough, and I don’t think I ever will!
I had a bunch of photos to work with, so I decided I wanted to do an interactive layout for our day trip. These are so fun when you have a bunch of photos or a lot to say about a particular memory-full day. I’ve been working recently in my 8 ½ x 11 scrapbook, so I knew I wanted to keep that size.
I began by pulling out a couple of my favorite papers from the collection. I’m a total sucker for stripes, so clearly that red and white striped page caught my eye. I quickly set out to trim it up, so that I could stitch it along the bottom edge of my page. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of this technique, because it makes such a pretty place to tuck in embellishments and journaling. Have I mentioned how much I love a good stripe?!
Next I set out to create the interactive feature on my layout. I really loved this amazing 4x6 ticket card in the paper pack, so I based the size on it. I created a little fold-out booklet of pages with it as my front. All I did for this was to cut each corresponding sheet to 4 ½ x 6, so that I had a nice ½ inch to score and adhere to the next sheet.
For each of the sheets, I made room for three sets of stories and photos. I really love how this little interactive feature turned out. By the time I got my photos in and added some chunky bits, I had to pull out a pretty little brad and string to tie it closed on my layout. These are always some of my favorite features.
I finished off my layout with some journaling, big numbers, and lots of stickers and stitching. I even decided on some scalloped details to add even more interest.
Thanks so much again for taking a peek at my project today, friends! I hope you’re staying healthy and safe!
