"Summertime" Swimsuit Mini Album

Hello there amazing crafty friends! It’s Lydia Cost today, and I’m thrilled to be sharing this oh so fun mini album. For this summer album I was set that I wanted to do a fun shaped album, and I finally decided on the great Echo Park cut file, 188233 in the Silhouette Store. It is an uncomplicated swimsuit shape, and I knew it would be perfect for my mini album.

I began by cutting out 12 copies of my swimsuit shape onto patterned paper. I created my covers with two back to back sheets of patterned paper to make them thick and sturdy. That left me with 8 sheets of patterned paper for my internal pages.

For my internal pages I stitched around the edges of my swimsuit, for some nice dimension on each page. For my front cover I wanted to do something extra special, so I chose the “Fruit” Paper for those fabulous watermelon seeds. I knew it was exactly what my swimsuit cover needed.

To add even more interest to my cover I added a pretty pink and green ruffle with a border punch and some of the solid papers in the collection. It made my swimsuit look like the real deal, and I fell in love with it.

I finished up my cover by using on the amazing dies in the collection. For the cover I used the “Hello Summer Sun” Die, to create my pretty mint title. I really love the way my front cover came together with some of the amazing papers in this collection. I’ve decided I need a matching swimsuit in real life after this, because it’s just so darn cute!

To attach all my pages and covers together, I simply punched two holes in the left hand side of the album and then used two binder rings.

I finished up my album by filling it with all kinds of great summer pictures from our adventures last year. The embellishments from the collection made it all possible, and I had everything I needed!
