Hi there, friends; It’s Lydia Cost today, and today I’m sharing another peek inside my ever-growing TN notebook. I love the simplicity of traveler’s notebook scrapbooking, because it’s a great size to fit only the things you need for quick memory-keeping.
One of the few downsides to themed collections, is that we sometimes run out of photos to scrapbook with for any given holiday, but I wanted to give you some tips on how to use up those themed collections with non-themed ideas! For today’s project I went with the America collection, which is perfection for all your American and Independence day projects. I wanted to give you some ideas on how to use this collection in a different way!
I fell in love with all the lovely blue and red stars in this collection, and I knew they would be perfect for creating a spread all about my little’s first sleep in a tent. We were lucky to spend some time camping, and I caught this cute-as-ever photo of him after he’d passed out from a long day. He was so peaceful and cute, that I couldn’t wait to translate that onto a layout or spread.
When using a themed collection, it’s best to pick patterned papers based on your color scheme. For this one, I wanted my spread to have lots of stars to emulate my little’s peaceful sleep. I also wanted to create some clouds out of the solids papers in the collection. The different shades of blues were perfect.
To create my title I pulled out some of my favorite EP alpha dies. I paired them with that amazing blue plaid paper in the America collection. “Slumber Under the Stars” looked perfectly in that plaid perfection, alongside the right-side of my TN spread.
I mixed in my title with some of my die-cut clouds from the blue and cream papers. I then chose a bunch of the stars from the element sticker sheet to accentuate my spread. They nestled in perfectly with my clouds and background mixed media.
The best tool for using themed collections for non-themed projects is to mix in lots of mixed media and die-cuts. They help tune down the themed specific papers and elements, so that the title of you project can be perfectly emulated. For my spread I chose cloud die-cuts, and then I used some modeling paste to add interest to the background. The America accents and papers blended in perfectly with my star and cloud spread!

Hello Echo Park friends! Do you have a favorite product that you love to use? I have a long list of favorite products, but at the same time, I simply can not finish anything without adding a few enamel dots! They are such a perfect finishing touch to any project and it could also take a center stage on your project. Anya here today and I used the Farmhouse Kitchen collection for both of my projects.
First, I have a layout to share with you that shows a basic use of enamel dots. I like to scatter a few dots near the cluster of embellishments, or create a visual line or movement on a page. You can use a single color dots, or mix and match colors as I did here.
For my card though, I decided to use a whole lot of dots to fill a die cut shape and let it be the center of attention on my card.
I used one of the leaf dies by Echo Park Paper and cut it at the top of a 3x4 journaling card. I traced the cut leaf shape onto a piece of white cardstock to get the idea what area should be filled, and then pulled a bunch of green dots in relative shades to fill the shape.
To the back of my journaling card I added some foam tape before adhering it to the card and decorated the rest of the card with a few stickers and other embellishments.
Thank you for visiting and come back soon for more inspiration!

Hi there, friends; It’s Lydia Cost today, and today I’m sharing my love for the new Adhesive Bards. I’ve loved having the complete versatility of the brad-less backs. It makes them so useful for so many different projects. I’ll be sharing some of my absolute favorites!
One of the many reason I love the adhesive brad sheets is that there is always coordinating chipboard stickers to go alongside. It makes the perfect piece to create the very best layered clusters on your projects. You can stack one or two next to each other near your title, or you can use them like enamel dots for an even bigger punch.
The next way I love to use my adhesive brads is to add flair to vintage buttons. I love how easy it is to create a really special dimensional piece to add to all your projects. It’s super simple; just pop one of the brads on top of a pretty colored button and nestle it on your project. This just makes my crafty loving heart happy!
Another great way to use the adhesive brads is by sealing your envelopes with them. They make a pretty statement on the back of a card envelope, while still holding the flap closed securely. You can even attached a little tag from the chipboard stickers with a little twine, to add even more character.
My fourth reason to love adhesive brads is to use them to create interactive features. They make the perfect place to sting along some twine that can be undone to reveal more goodness. Attached your string to your interactive area, and then simply wind it around the brad. It’s so simple for the observer to unwrap it, and then interact with your layout and projects!
And finally my favorite way to use the adhesive brads is to use them as pins. They are perfection when you use them to pin on a list of numbers, a group of labels, or to accentuate your areas of journaling. I absolutely love the way they look here, as I’ve pinned down my numbered list of journaling. I just love the way they pop on top of that silver number ephemera. I just can’t get enough!
I hope you leave today with a little inspiration for those beloved adhesive brads. They have become one of my favorite things to add character to any project, and I know you guys will love them too!

Hey friends! Dorymar here with you today! The company has assigned to the Creative Team a special challenge to introduce and share ideas with new products. As part of this challenge, I will be bringing you today a beautiful card with the new Hello Autumn collection from Carta Bella incorporating the new and stunning chipboards with no adhesive.
I used the Ultra White Linen Cardstock to create the base of my 4x6, then I used the different patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad to create the background and layers.
To create the decoration on top of my card I used several chipboard accent and phrases of the collection. Because they do not have adhesive, they are very easy to use.
One of the things I like the most is that the pieces do not have adhesive, sometimes to add the dimensions that I like so much one piece of paper stuck to another, I had to put powder or remove the adhesive layer and they became in a multi-step process to just place one piece. Now, I just add my dimensional tape on and voila, I have my piece in place and the things around it are not affected by the adhesive. It is fantastic!
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to use the fun new chipboard accents and phrases without adhesive to create your projects.
Have a great week and Happy Crafting!

Hello there again amazing crafty friends! It’s Lydia Cost today, and I’m thrilled to be sharing how to create this oh so fun mixed media layout, using the amazing Halloween Market collection. Mixed Media can be so simple to use in all your layouts, to add that extra bit of pop to your projects.
To start this layout, I knew that I wanted to create some great black stripes. These always pop nicely atop a clean solid sheet of cardstock, so I pulled out the solids paper collection. I opted for the orange/cream paper, so that I could base my layout on the amazing greyish cream color. I knew the color would pair perfectly with not only my mixed media, but the element stickers I planned to embellish with.
Next I pulled out my opaque watercolors. After mixing some black with water, I used a large brush to sweep on paint in stripes along the center of my layout. Feel free to make these stripes as slender or thick as you like. I personally like the impact that large stripes have on the background, so I stuck with my large brush.
The next step I took was to pull out the great dies from this collection. I loved this script font of Halloween words, and I knew they would look great placed along the layout near the stripes. I cut them out on some more solid sheets of paper and also the starry night patterned paper. I love the way they really pop in comparison to the black.
After positioning my die-cut words, I pulled out my sheet of element stickers. I knew I would be using a ton of element stickers with this layout, because the illustrations in this collection are so amazing. I think it’s one of my favorite Halloween collections ever. I positioned my stickers along my stripes and nestled them in with my die-cut words.
Next I pulled out ever last bat on the sticker sheet to really help my layout pop. To get even more dimension, fold the wings up along the spine on each side. This creates the illusion that those cute little bats are flying right off your layout. After positioning these in twos and threes around my layout, I then positioned my photo near the center. I chose to keep the layers behind my photo simple, with some tissue paper and some patterned paper.
To finish off the layout I popped up my photo with some foam dots and then splatter on some addition black paint. For the black splatters I use my smaller brush saturated in lots of opaque watercolor. I then hit the middle of the handle of my brush, spraying paint haphazardly around the page. I like to do these splatters in threes, so I arrange the splatters in three different places on my layout.
It’s as simple as that, but this fun mixed media layout really packs a punch. It always turns out clean and pretty, so it’s a template I use frequently!
