Hello there again amazing crafty friends! It’s Lydia Cost today, and I’m happy to be creating a little TN spread with all of you, using the new A Gingerbread Christmas collection. This collection is ever-so perfect for memory-keeping your favorite holiday baking traditions. My family’s tradition of the aroma of coffee cake on Christmas day was perfection for this collection.
I knew I wanted to create a little spread in my TN, so I went about creating a little TN scrapbook sketch for all of you to feel extra inspired to create with! I made sure to include lots of patterned paper, pretty snowflakes, and room for journaling on this one. It will be a breeze to create with your favorite Christmas collection!
For my spread I knew I wanted two pretty, patterned papers to cover my entire TN spread on each side. I chose the fun “Kitchen Magic” paper and the “Candy Toss” paper. They paired so perfectly with my photo and the color scheme.
To emulate the snowflakes from my sketch, I chose to die-cut a bunch from patterned papers. I used the cute “Snowflake Magic” die set. They are so fun to spread all over your spread, to create lots of pretty dimension. You can also use some of the element stickers or dimensional stickers to layer snowflakes onto your TN notebook.
On the left side I included a doily in the sketch, which would look lovely. I, however, fell in love with the sentiment on this large piece of ephemera from the collection, and I thought it emulated the design just fine. The “Let’s bake stuff, drink hot cocoa, and watch Christmas movies,” was perfect for my family’s ultimate goals during Christmas day!
I finished up this side of my TN spread by typing out my journaling onto white cardstock and cutting it into strips. This is the perfect way to really highlight your journaling and help it draw in the eye. It’s a great technique to help your journaling stand out on a busy patterned paper background.
All that was left was to layer up my photo on the right side of my spread. I added in some tissue paper and patterned paper behind, to really add some extra layers just like the sketch. I then sprinkled on a few more snowflakes, a puffy sticker, and another amazing element sticker. It really rounded out the whole spread!
