Winter Mailbox

I'm Michelle Zerull. For many years, our family lived in Michigan where the air was cold and the snow was beautiful. It was always a treat to find a letter or card in the snow-topped mailbox. When I saw the beautiful papers in the Carta Bella Winter Market Collection, I was reminded of my own mailbox, sitting beside the large pine tree. How beautiful it was amongst a mound of fresh snow! My feet were cold, but the mail in that box warmed my heart!

 

 

The Winter Market Collection Kit has some of the prettiest Winter florals I have ever seen in a collection. The patterns are full of blues and greens with pinecones and leafy sprays that belong in a Winter Wonderland! I love the journaling cards too. These cards don't need to stay in a pocket! I cut the "Let it Snow" portion from the "3X4 Patterned Paper" and topped it with the pretty flower spray on the Winter Market Element Sticker Sheet. It made a wonderful focal point on the Winter Market mailbox. 

 

 

The mailbox wouldn't be complete with some Happy Mail! I used the 6X6 Paper Pad to make a mini gift enclosure card to accompany the mailbox, which can serve as a pretty gift box. The Winter Market 6X6 Paper Pad has scaled down versions of the beautiful 12x12 papers. It also includes scaled down versions of the wonderful journaling cards too, which are what I used for the card. The watercolor penguins were cut from the 6x6 Pad journaling cards as well. So many fun images to use in that paper pad!

 

 

I loved making this project. The florals and patterns are true artistry, which made them a joy to work with. Winter Market is one of those collections where you save every little scrap because they're too pretty to throw away. With Winter Market, I know that I'll continue to make many more beautiful projects throughout the long Winter months ahead. I think you will too.

Snow Days are the Best Days!

Hello Carta Bella fans! Dorymar with you today bringing you some inspiration with the newest Winter Market Collection.  This collection is perfect to document all your winter adventures.  When I saw the collection, I love it instantly the beautiful forest touch in patterns, the colors, and the cutest animals are the perfect blend to create amazing projects.

I decided to use a few pictures remembering one of the best moments with my family this year before the Pandemic.  My family and I went to do snowboarding at the beginning of the year and was an AMAZING experience.  I started the page by creating my background using the b-side of 4x4 Journaling Cards paper and the b-side of 3x4 Journaling Cards Paper. Next, I created two circles,  from the "Let it Snow" paper I created an 8.5 diameter circle, and from the b-side of Frosty Plaid created an 8" diameter circle and adhered one on top of the other to create my central focus on my page.

I loved the beautiful branches that are included in the "Winter Floral" paper, so I decided to fussy cut them to create a rustic touch to my page.  I adhered these branches on opposite sides of the circle and the edges of the page.

In this bunch of branches, I added beautiful winter gloves and some elements from the elements stickers to create a striking cluster near my photos.

As the title of my project, I used one of the sentiments that are included in the sticker sheet. Around the sentiment, I adhered a few snowflakes and the cute penguin.  To finishing touches, I adhered a few white enamel dots to simulates snowballs. Manger Visit Layout - Silent Night

Hello there again amazing crafty friends!  It’s Lydia Cost today, and I’m sharing a fun and simple 8 ½ x 11 layout.  I love the simplicity of this size of layout, because you aren’t so overwhelmed by the size of the layout.  It’s the perfect size for memory-keeping on a smaller scale.

The Silent Night collection is filled with faith-based Christmas sentiments, and it was perfect for documenting my little’s trip to the live action manger scene.  He certainly had a blast seeing all the animals surrounding the manger.  The goats and the horse were wily, and it so fun to see that represented in the photos from that day.  I couldn’t wait to get them on a layout.

I knew that I wanted to do two photos for this layout, so after getting them backed with some patterned paper, I started thinking about how I might arrange some patterned paper on the layout.  I decided I wanted to do an emulation of a present on the layout.  I pulled out some glitter tape to make that happen.

After taping off my present design with glitter tape, I pulled out the new Scalloped 3D Bow die set.  I knew this would fit perfectly on my “present” layout.  After cutting it out on some patterned and solid papers from the collection, I set it aside.  I chose the manger animals illustrated patterned paper, for my main background paper.  I even fussy-cut a few of the animals to act as ephemera.

I stitched around my two rectangles of patterned paper, and then positioned them alongside my tied present design.  I then fluffed up the edges, to add a little more dimension to the layout.  Next, I adhered my die-cut bow onto the intersection of my glitter tape.  It made the whole layout look like a pretty, little present with a giant bow, and I love it!

To finish off the layout, I typed out my journaling with my typewriter on some white cardstock.  I then popped up it with foam squares and added a paperclip for extra character.  All that was left was to pop on my two photos near the top of the layout.  It was such a simple and pretty layout to create, and the Silent Night collection was the perfect addition.

Silent Night Nativity

Hey everyone,  Michelle here today with a new project to share using the Silent Night collection.  I instantly knew I wanted to make a nativity when I saw this collection.  At first I was going to make cards with a nativity scene but I found this adorable nativity cut file in the Silhouette store.  Perfect for my project!

 

 

I glued all my stickers to cardstock before adding them in the nativity, just to make them a bit sturdier.  I'm going to add some straw to this when I can find some.  

 

 

I loved this quote so I added it to the back, it also matched perfectly with the blue background.

Silent Night Giving Boxes

During the holiday season, it's nice to take a breath and give thanks. The postal workers, the grocery store clerk and the kind lady at the post office all deserve my appreciation, so I've used the Silent Night Collection to create these Giving Boxes to show my gratitude. It doesn't take much to make someone smile and feel important. These beautiful images of faith, along with a sweet treat or two, is my way of showing them gratitude, without making them feel the need to reciprocate.

 

 

The boxes were made with the Echo Park Paper Designer Dies "Take Out Box 3D Die" The die is part of the Echo Park Paper Designer Die line. It  is easy to use and makes crafting quick. For this project, I used a hole punch before assembling the boxes. This allowed me to attach a wire for hanging. The boxes are cute enough to save and can now hang on their Christmas Trees.

 

 

I love that boxes can open and then close again. The closure makes it easy to sneak a nibble without anyone knowing.

 

 

I love using good old-fashioned scissors and glue to make a project unique. In every Silent Night Collection Kit, you will find two pages of each design. This is great for making layered embellishments as I did here. I also used my Detail Scissors to cut images from the "Christ is Born" Patterned Paper and added a touch of sparkle to the "B" side of the Silent Night "3X4 Journaling Card" paper by using glitter glue. It's the personal touches that make crafting fun.
