It’s Lydia Cost today, and as usual I’m so thankful you’re stopping by today! I have the pleasure of sharing a cute-as-ever mini album I created using the Magical Birthday Girl collection. This collection has just the right amount of girly punch and whimsy to really make any birthday album perfection!

For this 4x6 sized album, I really wanted to do something a little different than my usual. I started pulling random pieces from my scrap stash, and I found some of these transparency sheets. I decided they would be perfect for the exterior of a mini album. I measured out my album base to my 4x6 size, and then I trimmed down that transparency film to fit perfectly on top.

Using my scoring board, I scored some folds, so that my album would have a rectangular shape when closed. I tied it off at the center with some punched holes, stitching, and some pretty and pink, matching ribbon. To really add some extra character to my album front. I added in some fun enamel dots all around it, to really draw your eye in.

I finished off the outside of my album with a fun charm. I created this one using some old jewelry in my discarded jewelry bowl on my craft desk. I also added in some fun die-cut pieces that I cut with the Magical Birthday Girl dies. “Birthday Girl” was the perfect sentiment to really help my album cover pop!

Now came the next fun part of adding lots of fun things inside my album. I chose to secure my album-insides with a single ring. It was easy to punch a hole through the backside of my album and then through each subsequent page, so that all of my album stayed nice and neat inside!

I added a bunch of journaling cards from the paper pack, pretty papers, and pockets for an album full of pretty things to look at, while also being duplicitously useful! I even added a fun button shaker pocket with some vintage buttons and some recycled striped packaging. After running it through my sewing machine with some bright magenta thread, it really tied the whole album together!

I was sure to add lots of pages just for photos. I mixed in a bunch of the amazing element stickers, to add character to each page. On the backside of all my pages, I added in a fun place to add journaling. Lined journaling cards are so easy to pop inside any mini album, and they match any color scheme or theme.

I mixed in some tags from the ephemera pack and backed photos with pieces from the frames and tags pack. This fun and girly album came together so easily, and I’m a bit smitten with it. Feel free to reach out with any questions you might have about the making of this easy little album; I know I certainly had fun creating it using this amazing collection!
